Chat is becoming a place to do work.
I live in chat (currently Codex). It’s become my preferred place to work, and I spend more time there than I do in my browser. I begin most of my work there - thinking through problems, building, and carrying tasks to completion. The interaction is no longer question-and-answer. It’s a task that unfolds over a conversation.
For development work, I can go end-to-end in chat - from writing code to deploying it. But other kinds of work, especially external-facing work, make me leave this surface. I have to step outside, often into the browser, to find the relevant context or access a service that’s not available to the agent.
Research is where Click starts.
The clearest gap today is external context. Built-in web search is useful for quick answers. But it doesn’t reach the specialized sources or live services that real-world tasks require.
I ran into this while researching people and companies, planning travel, and working through personal tasks. Click began as a way to solve that personal need: by bringing relevant context into chat so the agent can complete tasks end-to-end.
One trusted service at a time.
Research is Click’s first service. The vision is to add useful services that help people research, plan, communicate, and complete work without having to leaving the chat.
Why I’m building this.
Before Click, I helped build Ethereum. What drew me there was the vision of creating a platform that enables a new class of applications. Today, Ethereum powers applications like stablecoins and prediction markets.
I believe the AI chat surface is one of the defining application platforms of our generation. People are beginning to treat this surface as their gateway to the world: doing work and using other software and services through it.
I’m already living that shift. That’s the future Click is building towards.
